We are ALL athletes
Some would argue that in order to call oneself an athlete you would have to be a professional, training and competing full time. I beg to differ. We are all athletes. We may not all be paid athletes, but we are athletes none the less. Persistence. Determination. Overcoming injury and turning weaknesses into strengths. Are these not the qualities of an athlete?
Identifying as an athlete can go a long way. Start thinking like one, training like one, competing and recovering like one. Apply this mindset to all the little things, the warm up, the mobility work, the skills. Know that regardless of your current fitness level we are all in here doing the same thing.
Sometimes it’s the mindset that makes the difference.
